Contract Interior Design - In-Person

About the role

We are seeking experienced Interior Designers to join our freelance platform, providing modern, custom, in-person design services to clients in Connecticut. As a Designer on the Havenly platform, you’ll leverage our technology and support services (scheduling, ordering, invoicing, vendor management) to focus on delivering exceptional client experiences and beautiful designs.

This is a freelance contract role for Interior Designers headquartered in Connecticut.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with residential Connecticut-based clients through virtual and in-home meetings to understand their design preferences, needs, and budget.
• Lead the design process, including development of a mood board, design concept, floor plan, and 3D rendering.
• Source furniture and decor on Havenly’s platform, enabling clients to checkout from multiple vendor partners in one cart.
• Grow deep client relationships to drive repeat and referral business.

Requirements

• A degree in Interior Design from an accredited program or university is preferred.
• 3+ years of experience working as an interior designer with your own clients, either in-person or virtually.
• An industry-professional presence with confident, knowledgeable, and clear communication.
• Tech-savviness, including comfort using online tools to create concept boards, 3D renderings, floorplans, presentations, and communications. Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies.
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop or Canva, including layering images and using background removal tools.
• High degree of passion, drive, and knowledge to achieve creative results.
• Small business mindset; ability to drive projects forward and convert designs into sales.
• Strong product knowledge across vendors, categories, and price points to source furnishings and decor efficiently.
• Access to reliable transportation for client meetings, a computer with video conferencing capabilities, and a current Photoshop license or Canva account.
• Personal computer with up-to-date macOS Big Sur or Windows 10/11 to work on the Havenly platform.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Pay

Compensation includes a combination of pay per project, commission, and bonus.
