Contract Interior Design - In-Person

About the role

We are seeking experienced Interior Designers to join our freelance platform in Austin, TX and surrounding areas. As a Designer on the Havenly platform, you’ll collaborate with local residential clients both virtually and in-person, leveraging our technology and support services (scheduling, ordering, invoicing, vendor management) to focus on delivering exceptional design experiences and beautiful spaces.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Austin-area clients through virtual and in-home meetings to understand their design preferences, needs, and budget.
• Lead the design process, including development of mood boards, design concepts, floor plans, and 3D renderings.
• Source furniture and decor on Havenly’s platform, enabling clients to checkout from multiple vendor partners in one cart.
• Build deep client relationships to drive repeat and referral business.

Requirements

• A degree in Interior Design from an accredited program or university is preferred.
• 3+ years of experience working as an interior designer with your own clients, either in-person or virtually.
• Professional presence with confident, knowledgeable, and clear communication skills.
• Tech-savviness, including proficiency in Adobe Photoshop or Canva (e.g., layering images, background removal).
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies for creating concept boards, 3D renderings, floor plans, and presentations.
• High degree of passion, drive, and product knowledge across vendors, categories, and price points.
• Small business mindset with the ability to drive projects forward and convert designs into sales.
• Access to reliable transportation, a computer with video conferencing capabilities, and a current Photoshop license or Canva account.
• Personal computer with up-to-date macOS (Big Sur or later) or Windows (10 or 11).
• Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Pay

Compensation includes a combination of pay per project, commission, and bonus.

This is a freelance contract role for Interior Designers headquartered in the Austin area.
