Contract assignment through a staffing agency, onsite in Longview, TX.

About the role

Support Komatsu’s Longview, TX operations by selecting suppliers and procuring materials and services at competitive cost, quality, and delivery levels. Responsible for timely planning, manufacturing scheduling, and inventory control of products manufactured by Komatsu.

Responsibilities

• Work safely and advocate for safety.
• Plan and procure materials to support OEM and Aftermarket sales.
• Ensure orders meet quality specifications and required due dates through expediting and order management to prevent production stoppages and workforce downtime.
• Maintain and control material costs; support cost-reduction teams.
• Adhere to existing supplier contracts as directed by senior personnel.
• Review and resolve supplier performance issues.
• Create purchase orders for external suppliers.
• Maintain supplier information records, lead-times, source lists, material master data, purchase orders, and MRP-related settings.
• Resolve purchase order and invoice discrepancies (pricing, quantity, shipping/receiving).
• Initiate requests for product development and support ERN/ECN process and information flow.
• Develop suppliers to improve quality, delivery, and reduce total cost of ownership.
• Coordinate and disposition rejected parts promptly and cost-effectively to prevent production stoppages; recover associated costs from rejected materials and warranty items (COPQ).
• Manage MRP messages and expedite orders to ensure on-time delivery from suppliers.
• Support compliance initiatives (e.g., NAFTA, Country of Origin collection, Conflict Minerals compliance, UK Modern Slavery).
• Create and analyze reports as specified by management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, or Business (or Associate’s degree with relevant experience and training).
• Analytical and critical thinking skills.
• CPIM, CSCP, or CPM certification a plus.
• 0–1 years of relevant working experience.
• Experience working in an ERP environment (SAP preferred).
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Professional and positive attitude.
• Strong relational skills; ability to work with all departments and foster teamwork.
• Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
