Buyer -Contract Manufacturing

Join our talented Purchasing Department as a Buyer, working alongside Asset Managers (Material Planners) and the Program Management Team. This role involves producing a high volume of accurate purchasing transactions while managing material demands and achieving individual and team KPIs.

About the role

You will procure commodities such as Printed Circuit Boards, Cable Assemblies and Harness, various types of electronic components, custom and catalog assemblies, and Sheet Metal/Machined Parts.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a high volume of purchasing transactions daily.
• Proactively and assertively negotiate with suppliers for commodities, shipping terms, and cost avoidance to minimize purchase price variance.
• Stay updated on all changes related to assigned commodities/desk.
• Manage Past Due deliveries, Pull-ins, Push-outs, and Cancellations daily.
• Identify risk parts and escalate to management.
• Execute MRP actions consistent with purchasing policies.
• Resolve nonconforming material with suppliers, customers, and internal Quality and Engineering teams.
• Work with Accounting to resolve discrepancies.
• Reconcile open order reports and ensure system updates (e.g., material lead times) are accurate.
• Prepare RFQs as required and support programs assigned by Planning, Strategic Supply Chain, and Supplier Quality.
• Send automated requirements weekly to all relevant Target Suppliers.
• Follow through with purchasing-related workflows and metrics.
• Review excess material and dispositions monthly.
• Action non-conforming material (MRB) weekly.

Qualifications

• Expert-level experience in purchasing or related roles.
• Comfort negotiating with suppliers and managing supply chain workflows.
• Ability to prioritize critical tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00 per hour.
