Contract Attorney - AIA agreements

Responsibilities

• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of agreements, with a strong emphasis on AIA contracts and design/construction-related agreements
• Advising internal stakeholders on contract risk, liability, indemnity, insurance, and project-related legal issues
• Supporting project teams throughout the lifecycle of commercial architecture and design engagements
• Assisting with consultant agreements, vendor contracts, NDAs, and other operational legal matters
• Partnering with business leaders to balance legal protections with practical business objectives
• Coinciding with outside counsel as needed on disputes, claims, and specialized matters

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar admission in New York
• Approximately 7+ years of relevant experience, ideally including construction, architecture, design, or commercial contracts work
• Strong experience drafting and negotiating AIA agreements required
• Ability to manage multiple matters independently while working collaboratively across teams
• Strong communication skills and practical, business-oriented judgment
• Comfortable working on an as-needed basis
