About the role

Labcorp is seeking a US remote-based Contract Associate II to support our Mid-America division.

Schedule

Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Central Time Zone

Responsibilities

  • Provide end-to-end contracting of divisional client contracts, including drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and legal requirements.
  • Support business objectives by facilitating timely contract execution, managing exceptions, and maintaining strong client relationships through clear and effective contract processes.
  • Provide coaching and training for new hires on contracting policies and best practices.
  • Work with a team of contracts professionals in all aspects of contract creation and management.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate high-profile, complex client contracts using pre-approved corporate templates, ensuring consistency and adherence to company policies and risk standards; escalate as needed.
  • Review redlines using pre-approved language (approved deviations) and make determinations; request escalations to Contract Associate III or management as needed.
  • Address client questions, draft emails, and participate in calls related to client inquiries.
  • Escalate client concerns regarding information requests, compliance confirmations, pricing, business team questions, and requests for client calls.
  • Provide escalation assistance for redlines outside of pre-approved optional language.
  • Prepare requests for Law Department review and send contracts for legal evaluation.
  • Secure contract signatures, return executed documents to the client, and load final documents into the contract management system.
  • Clearly and accurately inform clients and management of the status of ongoing projects, including time frames, changes, problems, and solutions.
  • Work with management on annual reporting per Law Department and compliance policies.
  • Track the status of unique, challenging client contracts throughout their lifecycle (e.g., chasing signatures); escalate as needed.
  • Partner with the Law Department to interpret contractual terms, resolve disputes, and ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and internal standards.
  • Work closely with business units to understand client requirements, operational objectives, and service expectations to translate them into contractual terms.
  • Advise internal stakeholders on contract structure, process, and risk considerations; coordinate to identify and resolve contract exceptions and escalations.
  • Create, update, and maintain client records within the contract management system, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness of client records; monitor for duplicate, missing, or inconsistent client data and oversee resolution of discrepancies.
  • Monitor unique or challenging client bid opportunities and communicate them to management for assignment.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of bid proposals in response to RFPs, RFQs, and other solicitation documents, including crafting responses using standard pre-approved language.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary documentation, pricing, and compliance information.
  • Review bid terms and conditions to identify contractual obligations, risks, and compliance requirements, as assigned by management.
  • Track bid timelines, deadlines, and approvals to ensure timely submission.
  • Package proposals for legal review and submission to routine clients.
  • Secure signatures, return executed documents, and load them into the contract management system.
  • Support post-bid clarifications and contract award negotiations.
  • Communicate bid submissions and results to the Law Department for the Monthly Report.
  • Attend calls with the M&A Project Team to learn about the Target Company, clients, service offerings, etc.
  • Perform reviews of client contracts in the Project data room to identify non-standard service offerings for Labcorp and bring them to the Project Team calls.
  • Create new contracts or assignments of contracts as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and 5+ years of experience in contracts management, or Associate’s degree and 3+ years of experience in contracts management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in healthcare industry contracts management.
  • Associate’s degree and 5+ years of experience in contracts management.

Skills

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Programs, DocuSign, and Adobe.
  • High level of attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask.
  • Strong organization skills and ability to adapt to high-pressure environments.
  • Able to change directions in workload based on required timeframes.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team with little to no supervision.

Pay

$66,000 - $75,000 per year. All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills, prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.
