Continuous Improvement Specialist

About the role

This position reports to: Continuous Improvement Manager

Responsibilities

• Supports the deployment of strategy and objectives for continuous improvement at a local organizational level.
• Escalates to relevant stakeholders, as necessary, to remove roadblocks that prevent the successful implementation and adoption of continuous improvement initiatives at local level and helps facilitate cases of conflicting priorities in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Facilitates significant improvements with respect to safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and/or cost targets, meeting customer and stakeholder commitments in collaboration with local leadership.
• Provides training support by developing and maintaining training modules and toolkits aligned with business needs in collaboration with management at local level.
• Tracks programs, initiatives, projects, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to demonstrate progress and value, enabling decision-makers to allocate resources and recognize success.
• Drives/supports systematic benchmarking of external processes and techniques, incorporating relevant learnings into local ABB practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years’ experience in continuous improvement/quality.
• Knowledge in managing internal and external logistics, including Kanban systems, material picking, and coordination with suppliers.
• Experience in line balancing, waste elimination, standard work, and creating work instructions.
• Implementation of Quality Gates, improving First Pass Yield, reducing PPMs, and Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ).
