About the role

This position is a critical leadership role aimed at driving strategic business improvement projects to reduce operating costs, enhance organizational efficiency, and assist with waste reduction activities. The role involves working closely with senior management to implement various lean initiatives, including capital optimization/reduction projects.

Responsibilities

  • Leads selected project and program teams as directed by plant leadership.
  • Drives capital optimization/reduction initiatives and other change by applying lean and six sigma tools in a transactional environment.
  • Affords assistance to managers and team leaders with process optimization and business transformation activities.
  • Provides the necessary training and facilitating skills to drive business transformation activities and ensures long-term adoption.
  • Collects and analyzes information to improve the performance of the department and identifies areas for improvement.

Requirements

  • In-depth knowledge of Lean Manufacturing
  • In-depth knowledge of Six Sigma
  • Operations experience
  • Broad knowledge and experience with project management tools and methods
  • Managing by influence and negotiation with listening & leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and coach the implementation of transactional improvements through cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems and make decisions with judgment and a realistic understanding of issues
  • Established track record of sound cross-functional actions and decisions impacting the business process and company results
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (both oral and written)
  • Presentation skills
  • Ability to establish relationships quickly with a broad range of constituents
  • Ability to influence actions and opinions of others in a desired direction
  • Ability to withhold actions or speech in the absence of important information
  • Ability to create positive energy (motivation) in both individuals and groups
  • Ability to develop unique and novel solutions to problems
  • Proficiency in MS Office Applications

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree
  • 6-8 years’ experience in driving continuous improvement activities
  • Black Belt Certification desirable
  • Experience managing a team
  • APICS Certification is a strong asset
