About the role
The Continuous Improvement Engineer will partner with manufacturing sites to drive operational excellence, applying scientific and engineering expertise to identify opportunities, solve complex problems, and deliver measurable cost, efficiency, and performance improvements.
Responsibilities
- Develop deep process expertise in assigned areas, including chemistry, equipment operation, process limitations, cost drivers, yields, and usage
- Partner with manufacturing sites to implement operating discipline and continuous improvement principles using Lean, Six Sigma, and related methodologies
- Lead and support cost-saving initiatives, including feasibility assessment, conceptual cost analysis, and technical risk evaluation
- Teach, mentor, and coach teams in the effective use of continuous improvement tools and methodologies
- Represent the technical team in project meetings, influencing data-driven decisions and adherence to committed timelines and cost targets
- Analyze process and performance data to identify root causes, define corrective actions, and drive sustainable improvements
- Manage CI projects within your area of responsibility, ensuring delivery of defined and measurable results
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering required
- 5–10 years of relevant experience in continuous improvement, process engineering, or operational excellence
- Strong experience with Lean Six Sigma, Operational Discipline, OEE, or similar CI frameworks
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence without direct authority
- Advanced problem-solving, analytical, and data interpretation skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly
- Willingness to travel up to 50% as required by project needs
Qualifications & Experience
- Preferred certifications and tools: Lean or Six Sigma certification, experience with tools such as Minitab and ChemCad process modeling
