Continuous Improvement Engineer (Lockeford CA)

About the role

This is an intermediate-level professional individual contributor position in our Lockeford, CA branch, focused on developing and implementing continuous improvement principles and processes for a precast concrete manufacturing plant. Reporting to the Plant Manager, you’ll collaborate with operational leaders, onsite teams, and various departments to drive sustainable process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement continuous improvement activities across operations.
• Review department productivity and partner with operations to create action plans for performance improvement.
• Conduct studies to optimize workflow and operational sequences.
• Coordinate and drive structured processes to close follow-up actions from assessments and audits.
• Plan and facilitate cost-saving initiatives through Lean and Six Sigma projects.
• Collect and analyze production data, develop and track plant-level KPIs to identify improvement opportunities.
• Create and maintain a continuous improvement suggestion system, ensuring quick implementation of actionable ideas.
• Execute improvement ideas visibly using display boards to meet KPI goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in process improvement, preferably in manufacturing, with demonstrated experience in bringing new products to market.
• Firm understanding of kaizen tools (e.g., value stream maps, fishbone diagrams, PDCA, SMED).
• Lean Six Sigma certification (or ability to acquire Green Belt certification within six months).

Pay

Starting salary range: $80,000 to $95,000 annually. This position is salaried and exempt, with eligibility for an annual short-term bonus plan.
