Continuous Improvement Engineer
About the role
Arcosa Wind Towers is seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer to drive positive change through project management and CI methodologies. This role involves working across various departments to implement improvements in manufacturing processes, quality, efficiency, productivity, and safety.
Responsibilities
- Work cross-functionally with and provide CI support to all departments including production, safety, quality, engineering, and maintenance
- Provide engineering and CI support for improvement projects, product changeovers, and process improvement Kaizens and workshops
- Facilitate training as needed (continuous improvement tools, lean concepts, product/process rollouts, process updates)
- Utilize project management techniques including effective communication, implementation, cost/benefit analysis, and resource allocation
- Use various Microsoft and other computer software to track/manage projects, evaluate production processes, and create visual aids/managers tools
- Develop relationships with shop floor employees, understand their processes, and advocate for opportunities to improve production, quality, and safety
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related field
- 1+ years of experience in manufacturing; experience with continuous improvement preferred
- Experience and moderate proficiency in MS Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Projects, and Vizio) required
- Basic understanding or experience with VBA preferred
- Experience in providing training/coaching across multiple levels within an organization preferred
- Ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize projects and tasks
- Must be able to work independently and with a team
- Excellent communication skills across multiple mediums (verbal, written, electronic)
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and levels of cleanliness
