Continuous Improvement Engineer

Join Crane Currency as a Continuous Improvement Engineer in Dalton, MA and lead high-impact initiatives that transform manufacturing performance, reduce waste, and drive real operational results.
Responsibilities
- Drive meaningful improvements across manufacturing and business processes using Lean Six Sigma principles grounded in the Crane Business System.
- Partner closely with operations, quality, and engineering teams to solve complex challenges and build a culture of continuous improvement.
- Lead and support process improvement initiatives and training to drive a culture of continuous improvement.
- Conduct root cause analysis and apply statistical methods to improve process capability and reduce defects.
- Develop, implement, and sustain standard work and process documentation.
- Identify and execute improvements to reduce downtime, process interruptions, and delivery delays.
- Analyze data to evaluate project feasibility, prioritize initiatives, and deliver measurable cost savings.
- Facilitate Kaizen events and implement CBS tools to improve operational performance.
- Collaborate with Safety leadership to identify and implement improvements in high-risk or problem areas.
- Map processes, identify gaps, develop solutions, and lead execution of improvement projects.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience or exposure to continuous improvement within a manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles (e.g., 5S, TPM) and Kaizen methodologies.
- Ability to analyze data and apply problem-solving techniques, including root cause analysis.
- Strong communication skills and ability to influence others in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, and process mapping software.
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Experience participating in Kaizen events.
- Experience with Six Sigma tools (SPC, control charts, capability analysis, Gage R&R).
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification (or working toward certification).
- Experience with manufacturing systems (e.g., JDEdwards, SMART, Plant Apps, Master Control).

Pay
The salary range for this role is $75,000 – 88,000 annually. Pay is based on multiple factors including but not limited to work experience, qualifications, credentials, and location.
