About the role
Tyler Junior College is seeking highly motivated and experienced individuals to join the Continuing Education faculty team. This role involves delivering high-quality instruction and training to adult learners in Accounting and/or QuickBooks Online courses.
Responsibilities
- Develop engaging lesson plans, course materials, and assessments that align with industry standards and best practices.
- Adapt instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of adult learners.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting active participation and collaboration among students.
- Provide constructive feedback and support to students to facilitate their learning and skill development.
- Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and advancements to ensure course content remains up to date and relevant.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and evaluations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- At least three (3) years of work experience and expertise in the fields of Accounting and/or QuickBooks Online.
- Current professional certifications such as QuickBooks ProAdvisor Online, QuickBooks ProAdvisor Advanced Online, or relevant industry certifications (if applicable).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively engage and connect with adult learners.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate students' schedules.
- Must exhibit sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socio-economic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of staff and students, as well as staff and students with disabilities.
- Must be able to perform the essential functions and duties of the job, including specific physical demands, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven experience in instructional design and curriculum development.
- Previous teaching experience in continuing education, adult education, or vocational training settings.
- Associate's degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
