Adjunct Faculty: MBA Pro+ (Online) Faculty in Accounting

San Francisco Bay University (SFBU), an innovative, nonprofit, WASC-accredited university in Silicon Valley, seeks an experienced Online Adjunct Professor of Accounting to teach ACC 501 Managerial Accounting within the MBA Pro+ program. This role leverages advanced instructional technologies, including AI-enhanced learning tools, to deliver engaging asynchronous learning experiences and mentorship for graduate students.

About the role

The MBA Pro+ program prepares business leaders with financial and managerial knowledge for today’s technology-driven global economy. Accounting serves as the foundation for sound business decision-making, while emerging technologies and AI transform financial reporting, auditing, compliance, and business analytics. Students learn to interpret financial statements, apply accounting principles, evaluate financial performance, analyze managerial accounting information, and leverage modern accounting technologies through executive case studies, simulations, and applied consulting projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide an engaging, supportive, and student-centered online learning experience for graduate-level accounting courses.
• Facilitate courses using executive case studies, financial modeling exercises, simulations, and applied consulting projects.
• Build meaningful relationships with students through mentoring, academic advising, and professional coaching.
• Conduct 60-minute virtual student networking meetups (optional for students) twice weekly.
• Review AI-supported formative assessment insights, validate student mastery, and intervene when additional guidance is needed.
• Integrate AI-enhanced learning tools and emerging financial technologies to enrich the student learning experience.
• Continuously improve course materials to reflect current trends and best practices in accountancy.
• Evaluate summative assessments and submit final grades in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with faculty and academic leadership to strengthen and advance SFBU's MBA Pro+ curriculum.

Requirements

• Ph.D. or D.B.A. in Accounting, Business Administration (Accounting), Accounting Information Systems, Economics, or a closely related discipline.
• CPA, CMA, or other relevant professional certification is preferred.
• Experience teaching graduate-level online accounting courses using a Learning Management System (LMS).
• Expertise in one or more areas of accounting, including financial accounting, managerial accounting, cost accounting, auditing, taxation, accounting information systems, forensic accounting, or corporate governance.
• Familiarity with emerging accounting technologies and an interest in incorporating generative AI and other digital tools into teaching and learning.
• Demonstrated commitment to student success and excellence in graduate business education.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Must reside in California.

Pay

$7,300.80 for each 8-week course (hourly rate of $152.10).
