About the role

Bryant & Stratton College Online Division seeks part-time instructors to teach various levels of accounting courses. Instructors will facilitate an online learning environment that supports the college mission and visions statements, foster engagement using various teaching methodologies, utilize the latest technologies, and support students throughout their degree.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare course(s) in Blackboard with required elements by the designated deadline.
  • Instruct approximately 12-14 hours per week over five days per course.
  • Respond to student outreach within 48 hours.
  • Facilitate discussions, answer student inquiries, and provide personalized feedback.
  • Maintain a grade book and ensure timely submission of final grades.
  • Engage in retention efforts and monitor at-risk students.
  • Utilize retention tools weekly to monitor student progress and communicate with students and advisors.
  • Follow the college's plagiarism policy and adhere to rigor standards.
  • Encourage student participation in surveys and evaluations.
  • Adhere to all administrative requirements and meet final grades deadlines.
  • Meet with Faculty Assistants and Program Managers as needed.
  • Participate in campus-wide initiatives and workshops.
  • Collaborate with full-time faculty to improve classroom performance.
  • Act as a brand ambassador for the college.

Requirements

  • One of the following credentials: Master’s degree in Accounting, Master’s degree in field (e.g. MBA, MS Management) with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or master’s degree (any field) with a valid CPA license.
  • At least one year of experience working in an accounting role or a position that involves accounting functions.
  • At least one year of teaching experience.
  • Experience working in a Learning Management System (LMS) such as Blackboard.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.

Pay

The pay for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience.

Schedule

The schedule for this position is part-time, with approximately 12-14 hours per week over five days per course.
