About the role

Content Writer & Editor (Contractor, Remote) – multiple openings posted by micro180, with pay ranging from $20 to $70 per hour. micro1 is engaging a Content Writer & Editor to provide expert contributions to a customer’s project focused on text quality and AI evaluation. In this role, you'll apply your expertise to help train next-generation AI systems. Your work will shape how models learn, reason, and perform through high-quality, real-world input. No prior experience in AI is required — your domain knowledge is what matters.

Responsibilities

• Assess the clarity, coherence, and accuracy of written content to ensure it meets project standards.
• Conduct detailed writing evaluations, providing constructive feedback for continual improvement.
• Identify and annotate AI-generated content, focusing on detecting “AI slop” or low-quality, artificial text elements.
• Review and edit documents for grammar, syntax, structure, and tone, maintaining high-level English proficiency throughout.
• Collaborate remotely with project coordinators and other specialists, offering actionable editorial insights.
• Contribute written analyses and recommendations to enhance the overall effectiveness of AI model training datasets.
• Complete assignments within defined project timelines, ensuring consistency and reliability in deliverables.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in writing, editing, or evaluating text-based documents.
• Bachelor’s degree in English, Linguistics, or a related field; or prior experience teaching English.

• Demonstrated ability to discern nuances between human and AI-generated text.
• Prior involvement in projects requiring content assessments, editorial reviews, or quality assurance.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently in a remote engagement.
• Availability in the Australia / Asia Pacific time zones for optimal project coverage.

Pay
