About the role

The Content Writer / Blogger draws on a perspective from the subjects our organization cares for: children's expression, developmental psychology, history, anthropology, arts education, and archival development. The individual is a curious life‑long learner who reads articles and scholarly reports to summarize, quote, or refer to them for accuracy, writes short posts (500‑1000 words) from a personal perspective, and engages with readership and subscribers.

Responsibilities

• Write short blog posts (500‑1000 words) from a personal perspective.
• Read articles and scholarly reports to summarize, quote, or refer to them ensuring content accuracy.
• Engage with readership and website subscribers.
• Collaborate with a team of social media volunteers.
• Work under the supervision of another volunteer.
• Maintain a minimum output of one or two posts per month.
• Commit to a one‑year minimum volunteer commitment.

Requirements

• Previously published work with a portfolio.
• Previous volunteer experience.
• Ability to attend an online orientation session.
