About the role
The Content Strategy Associate plays a crucial role in the Marketing team, focusing on AEO and the evolving financial media landscape. This includes financial influencers and emerging platforms.
Responsibilities
- Support AEO-driven earned media strategy, ensuring VanEck perspectives are structured, attributable, and positioned for AI-generated responses.
- Monitor the evolving media landscape, including emerging platforms, new formats, and financial influencers, to identify opportunities to expand VanEck's reach and relevance.
- Develop and refine earned media narratives, pitches, and media responses, translating insights into clear, differentiated, and media-ready messaging optimized for clarity, quotability, and pickup across traditional media and AI platforms.
- Identify and act on newsjacking opportunities, helping position VanEck perspectives within timely market conversations.
- Manage press release drafting and review process, ensuring announcements are optimized for AI discovery while reflecting VanEck's positioning.
- Develop briefing materials to support multimedia engagements, including talking points, recent commentary, data, charts, and suggested funds to highlight.
- Day-to-day coordination with PR agency to ensure timely coverage, coordination, and follow-up for inbound inquiries.
- Contribute to consistency of messaging across earned, owned, and paid media, supporting broader integrated content strategy efforts.
- Track and assess impact of earned media activity.
- Support internal communications of earned media coverage, highlighting key messages and ensuring visibility across stakeholders.
Qualifications & Competencies
- Excellent writing and editing skills, with proven ability to translate complex topics into clear, concise language.
- Strong editorial judgment and ability to respond quickly and thoughtfully in time-sensitive situations.
- Experience supporting or working alongside PR teams or agencies.
- Strong attention to detail, particularly ensuring accuracy in financial communications.
- Awareness of developments in media environment.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Ability to work in office a minimum of 4 days a week.
Education
- Minimum of 4-6 years of relevant experience in financial journalism, communications, PR support, or content strategy.
- Experience with asset management, ETFs, or financial services preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree preferably in communications, journalism, finance, economics, or related field.
Pay
If this position will be performed in whole or in part in New York City, the base salary range is $90,000 - $110,000. Individual salaries may vary based on different factors including but not limited to, skills, experience, job-related knowledge, and location.
