Key Responsibilities We are looking for a skilled Content Specialist / Senior Journalist with extensive knowledge and expertise in Agriculture and Environments to create high-quality, engaging, and informative content. The ideal candidate will be passionate about telling impactful stories, translating complex agricultural and environmental topics into accessible narratives for diverse audiences. Research and report on agriculture, agribusiness, food systems, sustainability, climate change, conservation, and environmental innovation.Create various types of content, including news articles, features, reports, blog posts, social media content, newsletters, white papers, and interviews.Develop compelling story angles and content strategies that align with brand goals and audience interests. Interview industry experts, farmers, policymakers, NGOs, and corporate leaders. Monitor trends, legislation, and scientific developments in agriculture and environmental sectors.Collaborate with editors, designers, marketing teams, and subject matter experts to produce multimedia content (articles, videos, podcasts, infographics).Ensure accuracy, credibility, and SEO best practices in all published content.Support campaign development, public awareness initiatives, and advocacy efforts related to agriculture and the environment.Attend industry events, webinars, and field assignments as needed to source original stories and insights. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Communications.4-7 years of professional writing or journalism experience, preferably in agriculture, environment, or development sectors.Intense research, interviewing, storytelling, and editing skills.Ability to translate technical or scientific information into clear, relatable narratives.Proficiency with content management systems (CMS), social media platforms, and SEO principles.Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.Passion for agriculture, sustainability, climate action, and rural development issues.Good knowledge and understanding of photography, videography, and/or multimedia production would be a plus.Familiarity with agricultural value chains, food security, rural livelihoods, conservation practices, and/or climate-smart agriculture.Understanding international development frameworks (e.g., SDGs, COP negotiations) is an added advantage. Experience with donor-funded projects or nonprofit communications is beneficial.
