About the role

The Content Specialist will play a key role in keeping the quality of Meta's content experiences high across Meta platforms and products. This is a hands-on content quality role: you'll build and maintain the ground truth labels and golden datasets our systems and models are measured against, author and refine the guidelines that let us review content consistently at scale, run quality assurance on that labeled content, and translate what you find into clear insights that drive product and engineering decisions. The ideal candidate brings strong editorial judgment, a sharp eye for accuracy and consistency as well as a proficiency using AI tools and writing basic prompts.

Responsibilities

  • Ground Truth & Labeling: Build, label, and maintain high-quality ground truth and golden datasets used to evaluate content systems and models, maintaining a strong commitment to accuracy and consistency.
  • Guidelines & Standards: Author, iterate, and maintain clear content guidelines and rubrics that enable consistent review and labeling of content at scale, including handling ambiguous and edge cases.
  • Quality Assurance: Run QA on labeled content and review outputs, diagnose disagreements and inconsistencies, and drive improvements to inter-rater reliability and overall label quality.
  • Insights & Reporting: Analyze content and quality data to extract actionable insights and trends, and produce clear, compelling reports that inform product, engineering, and strategy partners.
  • Editorial Judgment: Apply strong editorial judgment to assess overall quality on content, making and documenting tough calls.
  • Process Development: Design replicable workflows and templates that keep the team nimble in a fast-moving environment.
  • Applied AI / Prompting: Use AI tools and write basic prompts to scale review, labeling, and insights work, validating that outputs are accurate.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional experience in content moderation, trust & safety, content quality assurance, or content operations at a technology or social-media platform.
  • Demonstrated experience creating, applying, or auditing content guidelines, labeling schemes, or ground truth / golden datasets.
  • Strong editorial judgment with excellent command of grammar, style, and tone, and a strong commitment to accuracy and consistency.
  • Experience analyzing content or quality data and translating it into clear, actionable insights and reports.
  • Comfortable working in ambiguous, fast-paced environments with shifting priorities.

Skills

  • Critical thinker who can translate data findings into concise, actionable reports; strong command of grammar, style, and tone.
  • Rigorous about accuracy, consistency, and edge-case handling when labeling or applying guidelines.
  • Familiarity with social-media platforms, short-form video, and content quality / discovery.
  • Experience driving QA, calibration, or inter-rater reliability across a team or workflow.
  • Creative self-starter with a strong work ethic and the ability to work autonomously.
  • Proficiency in Google Sheets and basic data analysis techniques.
  • Proficiency using AI tools and writing basic prompts to support workflows.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree required.
