Content Specialist
Joining Collibra’s Content team, Deasy Labs is hiring a Content Manager — the first dedicated writer on the Deasy team and the person whose words will define how the market understands a new category. You'll report to the Head of Marketing for Deasy and work closely with the founders and product leadership.
About Deasy Labs
Deasy Labs, part of Collibra, develops technology that automatically discovers, enriches, and maintains the semantic context inside unstructured data. Enterprise knowledge often lives in documents, PDFs, reports, and transcripts that traditional data systems cannot easily organize or govern. The Deasy platform analyzes that content and generates structured metadata, taxonomies, and relationships that allow AI systems to retrieve the right information with accuracy and control.
Responsibilities
- Editorial Direction: Bring a steady stream of original ideas for what Deasy should be writing — the ad angle no one's tried, the technical post that would make the right buyer pay attention, the social hook that earns a save. You'll pitch and prioritize alongside marketing leadership, but the ideas should come from you as often as they come from anyone else.
- Paid and Organic Ads: Write the headlines, hooks, and body copy for every paid campaign Deasy runs. Keep the pipeline full, testing new angles, new audiences, and new claims, and rewriting what's tired before it gets tired.
- Website Copy: Own the words on every page of deasylabs.com, from the homepage hero to the deepest product page. This includes net-new pages built for AEO and competitive positioning (e.g., comparison pages, integration pages, use case pages) that capture buyers searching for specific solutions or evaluating alternatives.
- Social Content: Write Deasy's organic social posts and periodically ghostwrite for founders and executives. Increase the volume of LinkedIn posts and strengthen the point of view in each one. Write scripts for short-form video that builds an organic following.
- Long-Form and Technical Content: Write whitepapers, technical blog posts, and product explainers that move comfortably between deeply technical and broadly accessible. Interview engineers and translate their insights into stories a CIO wants to read.
- Event and Field Materials: Write copy for booth graphics, event collateral, demo scripts, and live activations. Copy must land in three seconds with someone walking past.
- Launches and Announcements: Write the messaging, press materials, blog posts, and customer-facing copy for new product launches, partnerships, and integrations. Partner with product and founders to translate technical capability into market language.
Requirements
- 5–7 years of writing experience in tech, with a portfolio that shows range: ads, web, long-form, social, scripts.
- Bonus if your portfolio includes work for AI, data, or developer-focused companies.
- A point of view on craft. You can articulate why a piece of copy works and why another doesn't. You study writing from admired sources (e.g., vintage Rolex ads, writers at Stripe or Linear).
- Technical fluency. You don’t need to write code, but you must be able to read technical docs, sit through product demos, and produce accurate, specific copy without hand-waving. Experience writing for developer or data audiences is ideal.
- Category-defining instincts. Track record of writing for first-to-market products where you had to invent the language the market would eventually adopt. Comfortable writing about topics without established search volume.
- Independent judgment. You can take a one-line brief and ship a finished asset without excessive feedback. You know when to push back and when to ship.
- Demonstrated proficiency in leveraging AI tools (e.g., Claude, Gemini, ChatGPT, Copilot) to solve real-world business challenges, drive measurable outcomes, or streamline workflows.
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent related working experience is required.
- This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
Skills
- A generator of ideas, not just an executor. You read the market, product, and competition closely to know what to write next. You bring pitches constantly.
- Obsessive about marketing and writing, and likely about a few other things too. You’re a reader by nature and extremely online.
- Allergic to AI-generated copy. You can spot it from a mile away.
- Energized by the pace of a startup within the resources of a larger company. You like that Deasy is small enough for your work to go live quickly, and Collibra is big enough to reach enterprise buyers at scale.
- A self-starter who sees gaps in marketing and fills them without being asked. If the website headline is weak, you rewrite it. If the social calendar is empty, you fill it.
Measures of Success
- Within your third month: Rewrite Deasy's homepage and top three highest-traffic web pages, take over the ad copy pipeline, and ship a steady cadence of social posts in the founders' voices.
- Within your sixth month: Produce at least one major piece of long-form content (whitepaper, technical deep-dive, or category-defining essay), write launch copy for a major product or partnership announcement, and build a library of web pages supporting Deasy’s competitive market positioning.
- Within your twelfth month: Deasy's writing will be recognizable in the market. Buyers, analysts, and competitors will identify a Deasy ad, post, or page by its voice. The volume and quality of marketing output will exceed what any agency or shared service could produce.
