About the role
The Content QA Associate plays an instrumental role in ensuring quality across proprietary and third-party products through content quality assurance testing and functional support.
Responsibilities
- Conduct content quality assurance testing on digital-based course assets across multiple points in the production cycle.
- Review course assets for grammar, internal consistency, a11y, and adherence to style and design guides.
- Ensure LMS platform settings and functionality are correct.
- Produce a concise and complete deficiency report for the development team.
- Work with the development and deployment teams to remedy any deficiencies or defects.
- Support the Curriculum Quality Assurance Manager with various projects, contributing insights and assisting as needed.
- Effectively and clearly communicate project status, issues, and information, both verbally and in writing.
- Identify emerging issues from the review process that may lead to new requirements.
- Aid in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting quality metrics and performance data.
- Train and onboard new team members and/or vendors.
- Collaborate with the Curriculum Quality Assurance Manager to identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Assist with quality assurance audits and reviews.
- Undertake additional responsibilities and tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in instructional design, e-learning, or a curriculum-related field with 1–3 years of related experience.
- Microsoft Office proficiency (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, etc.).
- Web proficiency.
- Ability to clear required background check.
Qualifications
- Familiarity with the K-12 education space and/or online learning environment.
- Experience with creating and editing end-user content in SharePoint or similar knowledge base.
- A high-level understanding of robotic process automation and AI.
- A positive and proactive attitude, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
- The ability to anticipate needs and issues ahead of time and react accordingly.
- Experience working with one or more Learning Management Systems (LMS).
- Knowledge of tools, concepts, and editing/content QA methodologies.
- Experience training new staff on processes and procedures.
- Experience providing a high level of detail while reviewing web-based materials.
- Familiarity with WCAG accessibility standards.
- Experience in proofreading/copyediting content.
- Experience with content management systems.
- Strong English grammar knowledge, including spelling, punctuation, and syntax rules.
- Experience in reviewing/testing the functionality and usability of online content.
- A passion for product improvement and user satisfaction.
- A flexible self-starter who can work effectively independently and as part of a team.
- The ability to communicate project status, issues, and information effectively and clearly, both verbally and in writing.
- Detail and process improvement oriented.
- Experience with ticketing systems (e.g., JIRA, etc.).
- Familiarity with the Chicago Manual of Style.
- Familiarity with communication tools such as Teams, Slack, Zoom, or similar.
