Content Producer

About the role

WSET ABC 13 is seeking a creative News Producer to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day production of newscasts, working closely with the Executive Producer, Director, News Managers, and Anchors.

Responsibilities

• Determine the content and flow of newscasts
• Work with management and on-air staff to generate and write stories and develop content for the website

Requirements

• Solid news judgment
• Compelling and accurate writing skills
• Ability to multitask and manage time effectively
• Experience working in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• The ability to execute news strategies and goals in daily newscasts
• Flexibility and on-the-spot problem-solving abilities
• Proficiency with non-linear editing (i.e. Avid) and newsroom systems (e.g. iNews)
• Availability to work mornings, nights, overnights, and weekends

Qualifications

• Must have at least some previous news producing experience at a commercial or college TV station
• A journalism degree is preferred

Pay

The base hourly compensation range for this role is $16.82 to $18.75 per hour. Final compensation will be determined by various factors including relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location.
