About the role

The Jefferson County Public Library (JCPL) is seeking a contractor to assist with the organizational compliance with Colorado's new Digital Accessibility legislation and related clarifying laws.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of a program plan for digital accessibility compliance.
  • Outline key activities, milestones, and timelines for achieving and maintaining compliance.
  • Collaborate with cross-divisional teams including Technology and Innovation, Communication and Engagement, Public Services, and Training.
  • Provide cross-divisional support and facilitation for teams across the organization.
  • Manage content and users in a CMS, ensuring effective communication and stakeholder engagement.
  • Write requirements for content projects and tools, focusing on keyword placement and SEO best practices.
  • Implement and manage technology solutions for digital accessibility.
  • Facilitate digital accessibility training sessions and workshops.
  • Conduct accessibility assessments and create remediation plans and tracking systems.
  • Develop and implement governance structures for ongoing monitoring and support.
  • Make recommendations for continuous improvement and support.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of managing content and users in a CMS.
  • Experience writing requirements for content projects and tools.
  • Adept at keyword placement and SEO best practices.
  • Proficiency with popular content management systems.
  • Social media management experience.
