McGraw Hill, the leading provider of digital and print educational resources, is looking for a Contract Licensing Specialist. The Content Licensing Specialist (CLS) is responsible for directing and overseeing the research and licensing of third-party assets used within McGraw Hill products, working closely with their manager and cross-functional teams to ensure all assets align with McGraw Hill's rights strategy. The CLS exercises sound judgment and makes decisions in accordance with established company policies and procedures to determine the appropriate course of action when working with external vendors across projects. This role collaborates with authors, editors, and project managers on all assigned programs to provide guidance, confirm on-time and on-budget project execution, and maintain accurate contract information and data within the permissions management system. This is a remote position open to applicants authorized to work for any employer within the United States. What you will be doing: Serve as the internal expert on all rights management requirements, ensuring compliance with McGraw Hill standards and copyright laws while assessing risk across deliverables and proactively problem-solving issues as they arise.Lead the research, selection, and clearance of third-party assets for print and digital products, guiding external resource vendors through licensing negotiations with copyright holders and acting as the first escalation point for non-standard contracts.Partner with authors, editors, content developers, and cross-functional teams to provide strategic guidance during content planning, offering feedback that minimizes downstream challenges and keeps projects on track.Build and maintain strong working relationships with external vendors, photo researchers, stock houses, designers, and in-house production staff to ensure all programs meet quality standards; review and monitor the work of external team members to uphold those standards consistently.Collaborate with internal and external teams to establish project schedules and budgets, managing costs and timelines for all assigned work while providing clear and timely budget and spend reporting as needed. We’re looking for someone with: Bachelor's Degree required.3+ years of experience in project management and/or licensing, with a demonstrated ability to successfully complete projects.Ability to think strategically, negotiate, and manage projects effectively.Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with effective networking and negotiation skills.Strong team player with a demonstrated background in collaborating with internal and external partners to drive successful execution of goals.Demonstrated experience with rights management of third-party content.Working understanding of plagiarism, fair use, copyright, and/or permission licensing. However, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
