Content Lead
Sage is on a mission to improve care and quality of life for older adults, starting with those residing in senior living facilities. Falls are the leading cause of injury-related death among adults over 65. At Sage, we've built a modern way of understanding when older adults need help, including methods for residents to alert caregivers and software for caregivers to triage response. Our mission is to create a product that our clients love, and this role is key to that objective. Sage is a small, tight team of ambitious, multi-disciplinary entrepreneurs focused on solving central problems to achieve our mission.
About the role
As a Content Lead, you will define and own Sage's content strategy, then execute it through compelling, narrative-driven storytelling that drives brand awareness, educates audiences, and fuels growth. This hands-on role covers content end-to-end: strategy, planning, writing, editing, distribution, and performance measurement. You will also lead our Social Media Manager, ensuring our social channels reflect Sage's brand, voice, and strategy while maximizing engagement.
Success depends on being strategic enough to define what content should exist and why, being a strong communicator who can translate complex healthcare and technology topics into clear, engaging content, and being comfortable operating in ambiguity within a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain our overarching content strategy across audiences and formats (web, email, blog, social, long-form, and more).
- Own content calendars and campaign planning in collaboration with marketing, product, and GTM teams.
- Define and execute Sage's SEO and generative engine optimization (GEO) strategy to increase discoverability across search engines and AI-powered platforms.
- Create and manage high-quality editorial content—from thought leadership to case studies, newsletters to landing pages.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to align content with business goals, voice, and positioning.
- Measure content performance, uncover audience insights, and continuously optimize content strategy based on data.
- Lead and mentor the Social Media Manager, setting the strategy for Sage's social channels and ensuring content aligns with our brand and objectives.
- Uphold and evolve Sage's brand voice while managing freelance writers, agencies, and other creative partners as needed.
Qualifications
- 4-6+ years of experience in content strategy, brand storytelling, or editorial leadership.
- Demonstrated ability to craft thoughtful, strategic content across digital channels.
- Strong writing and editing skills, with a portfolio that shows both creativity and clarity.
- Experience working in fast-growing, cross-functional teams—particularly in mission-driven or healthcare-related companies.
- Comfort working in ambiguity, rolling up your sleeves, and managing content end-to-end.
Preferred Qualifications
- Preference for B2B experience. Open to D2C, but must have reported into the Marketing function.
- Background in brand development, content design, or experience in virtual healthcare, wellness, or adjacent sectors.
Benefits
- Competitive base compensation with stock options.
- Fully-paid health and dental insurance, plus vision insurance.
- Membership to premium primary and urgent care, and online medical health providers.
- Take-as-you-need time off policy, in addition to 7 paid holidays and a company-wide winter break.
- Office lunch and fully stocked snack bar.
- Up to 2 remote days per week in an in-office culture.
- Regular offsites, outings, and team meals to foster connection.

Headquarters are located in New York City's Union Square, with up to 2 remote days per week allowed.
