Content Creator/Editor Intern (multiple)
Mission Flight is a 501(c)(3) international Christian non-profit organization that utilizes aviation to provide medical/dental/optical/surgical clinics to impoverished and isolated communities, patient transport, disaster relief support, and youth/education programs. Our mission is to "bridge the gap" to reach isolated communities to bring hope, help, and healing. As a faith-based organization, we operate on Christian values and serve both domestically and internationally from our base at San Gabriel Valley Airport in L.A. County.
About the role
Mission Flight is seeking dedicated Content Creator/Editor Interns to help tell the stories of our patients, volunteers, and aviation missions. In this role, you will craft compelling video and photo content for social media, YouTube, donor engagement, ministry presentations, and fundraising campaigns. You will collaborate closely with leadership to produce engaging digital content that inspires donors, supports youth outreach, and raises awareness for our programs.
Location: Hybrid (75% remote) – must be located in Southern California and available during Pacific Time hours. Term: Summer/Fall (flexible, multiple openings). Commitment: 10–15 hours per week with flexible scheduling. Compensation: Unpaid / School Credit offered.
Responsibilities
- Social Media Creation: Ideate, script, shoot, and edit engaging short-form video content (Reels, TikToks, Shorts) highlighting our aviation missions, clinics, and programs.
- Editing: Create impactful stories from video, photo, graphic, and written assets. Cut, assemble, and polish raw footage into high-impact short-form (Reels, TikToks, Shorts) and long-form (YouTube, newsletters) content.
- Audio & Sound Design: Select background music, mix audio tracks, and sync voiceovers or interviews for clean, emotionally resonant sound.
- Post-Production Graphics: Implement captions, subtitles, lower-thirds, and basic motion graphics aligned with Mission Flight’s visual brand.
- Collaboration: Work with the Creative Director and other interns to create engaging stories highlighting our work and the people we serve.
- Storytelling & Copywriting: Draft compelling captions, newsletter segments, or blog posts that communicate the heart of Mission Flight.
- Asset Management: Organize and catalog media into a streamlined cloud database for future use.
- Brand Consistency: Ensure all content aligns with Mission Flight’s voice, visual identity, and faith-based values.
- Servant Heart: Willingness to be flexible, learn new skills, and serve people in need with enthusiasm.
Requirements
- Aligned Christian Faith: Must share an active Christian faith, a servant’s heart, and a strong commitment to our organizational values. Actively involved in a church or Christian community.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with interns and teams overseeing Social Media Management, Copywriting, and Graphic Design.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment, stay organized, and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency with content creation tools (CapCut, SCRL, Canva, Claude, Gemini, ChatGPT, etc.).
- Proficiency with major social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn).
- Proficiency with team collaboration and project management tools (Slack, Discord, Asana, Jira, WhatsApp, Google Suite).
- Familiarity with professional video editing software (Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve).
- Current student pursuing a degree in Communications, Marketing, Digital Media, Film, Graphic Design, or related field (or equivalent passion/experience).
- Basic understanding of color correction, audio mixing, and pacing.
- Familiarity with video formats, dimensions, and compression standards for social platforms.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet post-production timelines.
