About the role
The Content and Engagement Coordinator position is a full-time, year-round in-person position that includes some nights and weekends. The annual salary range is $40,000 - $43,000.
Responsibilities
- Lead production of major print and digital publications, including The Dubliner, Report of Giving, The Quad, The Compass, and the Monthly Alumni Newsletter
- Write monthly feature stories aligned with Communications priorities (SEO, prospective families, and institutional storytelling)
- Produce weekly "For the Fridge" content
- Advancement Writing: Lead writing for Fall and Spring appeals (print and digital)
- Support messaging for Day of Giving, Giving Tuesday, and end-of-year campaigns
- Draft and distribute monthly press releases to regional publications
- Social Media: Help own and manage the School's social media presence in collaboration with the Communications team
- Help publish content: 3x/week on Instagram and Facebook, Weekly Stories highlighting campus life and events, 1x/week on LinkedIn (thought leadership, alumni, and event promotion)
- Help develop a consistent voice and storytelling approach across platforms
- Partner with students and colleagues to generate authentic, community-centered content
- Events: Support the planning, coordination, and execution of on- and off-campus events
- Collaborate with Advancement and Communications teams to promote events and capture content
- Translate events into compelling stories and engagement opportunities
- Grant Support: Identify, write, and track grant opportunities and deadlines
- Gather supporting materials and coordinate across departments as needed
- Student Leadership: Serve as Yearbook Advisor, guiding student interns in the planning and production of the yearbook
- Community Engagement: Serve as an active, visible, and engaged member of the school community
- Attend and support key school events, programs, and traditions throughout the year
- Support the school through coaching, advising, or other extracurricular involvement as needed and depending on experience
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, English, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
- 3–5 years of experience in writing, communications, marketing, or a related field
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills across multiple formats and audiences
- Demonstrated experience managing social media accounts for an organization or brand, including content creation and basic analytics
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; able to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Able to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Comfort working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
- Experience supporting events, including promotion, coordination, and/or on-site execution
- Familiarity with digital tools and platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Blackbaud, basic CMS platforms, email marketing tools)
- Experience with or willingness to learn grant writing and donor-facing communications
- Interest in working with students and supporting student-led initiatives (e.g., yearbook and interns)
- Alignment with the mission of an independent school and an interest in education
