Description Fine Jewelry Sales Advisor Position Summary The Fine Jewelry Sales Advisor at Bigham Jewelers is a trusted advisor, relationship builder, and ambassador of our brand. This role is centered around delivering an exceptional, highly personalized luxury experience while developing long-term relationships with our discerning clientele. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of success in luxury retail, fine jewelry, or another high-end sales environment and understands how to build meaningful relationships with an affluent clientele. This is not a transactional sales position. Our Sales Advisors take the time to understand each client’s lifestyle, preferences, and aspirations and use their expertise to guide them toward pieces that are both personally meaningful and appropriate for their needs. The Sales Advisor is responsible for achieving and exceeding individual sales and gross profit goals while delivering the level of service, product expertise, discretion, and professionalism expected of the Bigham Jewelers brand. Requirements Position Responsibilities Client Experience & Relationship Building Welcome every client with warmth, professionalism, and genuine hospitality while creating an elevated and personalized in-store experience. Establish rapport quickly and thoughtfully identify each client’s needs, preferences, lifestyle, and purchasing motivations. Serve as a trusted advisor throughout the entire sales process—from initial consultation through purchase and ongoing client service. Develop and maintain meaningful, long-term client relationships that extend well beyond the individual transaction. Cultivate a strong personal book of business through exceptional service, clienteling, follow-up, referrals, and repeat business. Anticipate client needs and introduce appropriate opportunities, including pieces or services the client may not have initially considered. Handle high-value and sensitive transactions with discretion, confidence, and professionalism. Manage client concerns and service issues promptly and thoughtfully while maintaining Bigham’s standards and protecting the client relationship. Sales & Business Development Consistently achieve or exceed individual sales, gross profit, average sales, add-on, and other established performance goals. Utilize a consultative selling approach rather than transactional selling. Present fine jewelry, diamonds, watches, and related services with a high level of product knowledge, confidence, and enthusiasm. Clearly communicate the craftsmanship, quality, rarity, provenance, design, and value of merchandise. Recommend merchandise based on the client’s individual needs, style, occasion, and budget. Effectively negotiate and close sales while maintaining the integrity and positioning of the Bigham brand. Proactively follow up with clients regarding special orders, repairs, purchases, wish lists, and future opportunities. Utilize client profiles and CRM tools to document preferences, purchases, important dates, special orders, and follow-up opportunities. Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective and existing clients. Product & Industry Expertise Maintain comprehensive knowledge of Bigham’s jewelry, diamond, watch, bridal, and luxury collections. Develop a strong understanding of diamonds, gemstones, precious metals, craftsmanship, and fine jewelry construction. Maintain knowledge of current and emerging luxury jewelry trends, designers, vendors, and collections. Stay informed regarding competitors, their merchandise offerings, strengths, weaknesses, and positioning within the marketplace. Maintain current knowledge of Bigham promotions, policies, procedures, security practices, and client services. Participate enthusiastically in vendor presentations, product training, GIA education, and other professional development opportunities. Store Standards & Operations Maintain showcases and displays according to Bigham’s visual standards, ensuring merchandise is presented beautifully, accurately, and securely. Maintain a clean, organized, and luxurious selling environment. Prepare sales documentation, present pricing, process payments, and accurately enter transactions into the appropriate systems. Follow all company insurance, security, shipping, inventory, and operational policies. Maintain accurate client records, special orders, repairs, and other required documentation. Work closely with the sales, service, management, and administrative teams to ensure seamless client experience. Communicate effectively with the Store Director and other members of the Bigham team. Attend scheduled staff meetings, sales meetings, and vendor training sessions. Support store events, trunk shows, clienteling initiatives, and community activities. Represent Bigham Jewelers professionally and positively within the community. Perform Additional Responsibilities As Assigned. Essential Qualifications & Experience Luxury sales experience is required. Fine jewelry experience is strongly preferred. The Ideal Candidate Will Possess Proven success in a luxury retail or high-end sales environment. Fine Jewelry Sales Experience Strongly Preferred. Demonstrated success working with an affluent and discerning clientele. A proven ability to achieve and exceed individual sales goals. Exceptional client service and relationship-building skills. A sophisticated, polished, and professional presence. Strong communication, interpersonal, presentation, and negotiation skills. The ability to confidently engage clients in high-value purchases. A genuine passion for fine jewelry, luxury products, fashion, design, and exceptional service. The ability to listen, ask thoughtful questions, identify needs, and make personalized recommendations. Strong follow-up and clienteling skills with a demonstrated commitment to building a personal book of business. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple client relationships and priorities. The ability to exercise discretion when working with high-profile and high-net-worth clients. A team-oriented mindset and willingness to contribute to the overall success of the store. Computer proficiency and the ability to learn and utilize POS, CRM, and other business systems. A commitment to continuous learning and professional development. A willingness to represent Bigham Jewelers and its core values within the community. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience selling fine jewelry, diamonds, luxury watches, or designer jewelry. Experience with luxury POS and CRM systems. Established network or book of business within the luxury market. College degree or equivalent professional experience. Previous involvement with community organizations, boards, committees, or charitable organizations. What Success Looks Like A successful Bigham Jewelers Sales Advisor is more than a salesperson.
