About the role
This position reports to the Manager, Consumer Loan Processing. The Consumer Loan Processor reviews and validates all reports and member-provided documentation to satisfy loan stipulations for all product types and provides the clear-to-close for all non-equity loans (Auto, boats, RV, credit cards, vehicles, power sports, signature loans, deposit-secured loans).
Responsibilities
- Review and validate all documents and reports as required per loan product or stipulated by underwriting.
- Responsible for satisfying loan stipulations and clear-to-close for all non-equity loans.
- Perform proof of income calculations.
- Update loan application as necessary, documenting the reason for any changes.
- Communicate with PFO and/or Specialist to obtain necessary information from members.
- Communicate with dealers and other financial institutions to resolve outstanding issues preventing a loan from being ready to close.
- Communicate with Central Loan Processing for additional information or document corrections when necessary.
- Communicate with Central Loan Underwriting for updated application decisions when necessary.
- Find solutions for problems or errors and correct them.
- Monitor and promptly reply to all emails, phone calls, and Team chats delivered to the Document Specialist group.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of two years of lending experience, or one year of lending experience with Landmark.
- Knowledge of consumer lending is preferred.
- Demonstrated success in independent research and issue resolution.
- Knowledge and understanding of various loan documents, banking processing standards, best practices, and audit control procedures.
- Proven ability to consistently complete duties within established time frames in a high-volume environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently.
- Must have experience or be able to gain proficiency in all programs and systems used for this job.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving skills, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently.
- Must develop a thorough understanding of company policies and procedures as they relate to this position.
- Must comply with all company policies and procedures and all job-related state and federal laws and regulations.
