Consumer Loan Operations Department Manager

About the role

Lead the credit union’s consumer lending operations across consumer loans, HELOCs, credit cards, indirect lending, and future digital lending channels. Provide leadership and development for direct managers and staff while overseeing operational performance, partner relationships, process improvement, compliance, and strategic initiatives that support loan growth, portfolio quality, and member experience. Collaborate with leaders across the organization to enhance operational effectiveness, implement technology and automation solutions, and build scalable processes that align with the credit union’s long-term objectives.

This position is located at HSFCU Headquarters in Downtown Honolulu.

Responsibilities

  • Lead consumer lending operations across all lending channels.
  • Develop and execute operational strategies supporting growth and member experience.
  • Lead, coach, and develop managers and staff.
  • Drive process improvement, automation, and operational excellence.
  • Monitor performance metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance, risk management, and sound operational controls.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in consumer lending, loan operations, lending administration, collections operations, or related financial services functions.
  • 2+ years of leadership, supervisory, or management experience.
  • NMLS registration.

Qualifications (Preferred)

  • Financial institution lending operations experience.
  • Experience managing consumer lending teams and managers.
  • Experience with consumer loans, HELOCs, credit cards, and indirect lending program guidelines and procedures.
  • Experience with LOS, automation, and digital lending platforms.
  • Experience leading process improvement and operational transformation initiatives.

Pay

Base annual salary range: $97,200 - $127,575 per year. Final compensation determined based on experience, skills, and internal equity.
