Summary Of Position
The Lending System Administrator supports Tower Federal Credit Union’s Consumer Lending loan origination system, analyzing requirements, implementing, and maintaining systems. They also provide project and business analysis support for strategic projects and system upgrades.
Principal Accountabilities
- Collaborates with end users, analysts, peers, and management to develop new software integrations and applications.
- Develops technological solutions for processes and workflows by performing analysis and providing automation improvements.
- Validates results by testing programs and provides assistance with new procedures.
- Aids in solving organization information problems.
- Provides technical support for projects in support of TFCU requirements, evaluating options and developing project plans.
- Maintains the integrity, performance, reliability, and security of TFCU's consumer lending systems.
- Works with TFCU Information Systems to install and support server and PC-based software.
- Reviews new enhancements/features, coordinates updates, and makes recommendations regarding vendor/application direction and fit within Tower’s Infrastructure.
- Investigates and resolves enterprise application functionality issues.
- Supports user departments with accurate and timely responses to requests for information.
- Performs appropriate research and testing for new business processes or applications.
- Establishes and coordinates backup and recovery procedures for applications and databases in conjunction with network administrators.
- Verifies and tests Disaster Recovery of all consumer lending software applications.
- Writes, translates, codes, and maintains software integrations and applications according to specifications.
- Develops programming scripts to enhance functionality and/or performance of consumer lending systems as necessary.
- Produces system reports and data extracts in various formats and delivery channels based on end user requirements.
- Supports user departments with accurate and timely responses to requests for information.
- Performs related duties when assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree in business, Finance or a related field.
- Three to five years progressively responsible lending systems experience in the credit union / financial services field.
- Experience with report creation and analysis using financial systems.
- Experience with MeridianLink LoansPQ application, implementation, and maintenance is preferred.
- Or, an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Competencies
- Excellent problem-solving skills, including the ability to interpret problems and make recommendations based on diagnostics, identify cause and effect relationships, and evaluate risk vs. potential return.
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft suite of desktop applications.
- Knowledge of financial institution systems (ie. Core processing, reporting, etc.) a plus.
- Thorough knowledge of consumer lending systems.
- Proficiency in programming underwriting logic and understanding consumer loan programs, products, policies, and guidelines.
- Ability to read and analyze financial and operational data with which to draw sound conclusions and make recommendations and create relevant and readable graphs, flowcharts, and spreadsheets.
- Effective communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with systems vendor staff as well as technical and non-technical users at all levels within Tower.
- Ability to provide explanations or instructions and respond to questions in one-on-one situations, in person, via email, and/or over the phone; present ideas and concepts clearly and concisely verbally and in writing; write reports, business correspondence, and procedures for a diverse audience.
- Excellent organization skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, complete daily job assignments, develop comprehensive project and action plans, demonstrate successful follow-through with project implementation, organize workload to accommodate competing deadlines, and successfully manage multiple, concurrent projects.
- Knowledge of and adherence to credit union policies and procedures and all regulations related to the Bank Secrecy Act, the USA PATRIOT Act, and OFAC.
Work Conditions

- Ability to work the hours needed which may extend beyond the defined work schedule when operating conditions dictate.
