Responsibilities
- Oversees, leads, plans, directs and executes all aspects of the Consumer Lending Operations department’s subgroups: Consumer Lending Processing/Funding, Home Equity Line of Credit (HELOC) Processing/Funding, Servicing and ancillary Insurance products related to direct consumer loan products.
- Provides support to the sales team in the production of consumer loans, and ensures cross-selling of products and services.
- Oversees all aspects of Consumer Operational decisions for the Credit Union.
- Responsible for and drives production within the subgroups of the Consumer Lending Operations Department as well as responsible for operational efficiencies.
- Participates in the establishment of lending goals as well as financial goals for the Consumer Lending segment.
- Communicates with Members and staff to sell loan products and ensure good member service.
- Directly approves more complex loans and loan exceptions.
- Assists members with loan requests, problem resolution and cross-sells products and services.
- Provides leadership and coaching to motivate and maximize the performance of Lending Operations Supervisor(s) and Lending Operations team.
- Selects, develops, and evaluates the performance of the lending operations team.
- Establishes attainable consumer lending operational goals, which includes Visa product operational goals.
- Coordinates and maintains solicitation methods and processes to increase consumer loan volumes.
- Makes recommendations for the development of new products and services.
- Manages all Consumer lending operations within the subgroups, and staff.
- Fulfills Title & Lien duties, requiring staff to have adequate compliance trainings (e.g., all state DMV requirements and regulations).
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5-7 years of Consumer Lending operations, inclusive of consumer and home equity loans underwriting, processing, and funding, with direct credit authority.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of collateral management experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of management experience in a financial institution.
- Advanced credit experience.
- Ability to analyze and evaluate loan requests and make credit decisions.
- Knowledge of budget process.
- Demonstrated experience in financial principles and practices required.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in order to effectively interact with staff, members, and all levels of management.
- Business Acumen, Process Management, Negotiating, Conflict Management, Developing Direct Reports, Motivating Others, Sizing Up People Drives for Results: demonstrated ability to achieve business targets.
