Consumer Finance Litigation Senior Counsel
About the role
Husch Blackwell LLP is seeking a Consumer Finance Litigation Senior Counsel with at least eight years of relevant experience. This position is open to candidates residing and licensed in California, Texas, Florida, New Jersey, New York, or Ohio, though candidates from other states are considered.
Responsibilities
- Defending financial services companies in both state and federal courts
- Working with attorneys in the Financial Services & Capital Markets business unit
- Experience representing mortgage servicers and/or originators in contested foreclosures, quiet title actions, title disputes, and related claims
- Knowledge of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act (FDCPA), the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), and other federal and state consumer protection statutes
Requirements
- At least eight years of relevant experience
- Active bar license in the state corresponding with the office to which you are applying or commitment to obtaining one as soon as possible if applying to The Link
- Excellent academic credentials

- Demonstrated record of working well under pressure
- Exceptional judgment
- The ability to effectively handle multiple projects
- The ability to articulate legal strategies and courses of action

Pay
Pursuant to applicable state laws, the compensation range for this position in California, Colorado, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Washington, and Washington, D.C. is $185,000 - $230,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Salaries in all other markets will vary depending on market data.
