Consumer Finance Litigation Senior Counsel

We will consider candidates for any of our offices, including our virtual office, The Link, however, candidates residing and licensed in California, Texas, Florida, New Jersey, New York, or Ohio are strongly preferred.
About the role
The candidate will work primarily with attorneys in our Financial Services & Capital Markets business unit. The ideal candidate will have excellent academic credentials, a commitment to the community, superior interpersonal skills, and a demonstrated record of working well under pressure. The candidate should demonstrate exceptional judgment, the ability to effectively handle multiple projects, and the ability to articulate legal strategies and courses of action.
Responsibilities
- Defend financial services companies in both state and federal courts
- Represent mortgage servicers and/or originators in contested foreclosures, quiet title actions, title disputes, and related claims
Requirements
- At least eight years of relevant experience preferred
- Active bar license in the state corresponding with the office to which they are applying or commit to obtaining one as soon as possible
- For the virtual office, The Link, must be licensed in the state in which they reside
- Working knowledge of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act (FDCPA), the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), and other federal and state consumer protection statutes
Pay
Pursuant to applicable state laws, the compensation range for this position in California, Colorado, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Washington, and Washington, D.C. is $185,000 - $230,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Salaries in all other markets will vary depending on market data.
