Nature and Scope
This position reports to the Manager, Consumer Document Preparation. The Document Preparation Coordinator is responsible for:
- High-level review of applications to determine borrowers, co-borrowers, guarantors, and owners of collateral.
- Analyze applications to determine required documentation for each product.
- Work with other associates to resolve application errors.
- Complete additional documents needed outside of the loan origination system.
- Update the DealerTrack log (if applicable).
- Issue Guaranteed Asset Protection (GAP) and Mechanical Breakdown Protection, if needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of one year of lending or financial experience, or one year of experience with Landmark.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, basic typing skills.
- Consistently completes duties within established time frames in a high-volume environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving skills, organizational skills, and ability to work independently.
- Experience or proficiency in all programs and systems used for this job.
- Independent judgment and discretion in various situations while maintaining confidentiality.
- Thorough understanding of company policies and procedures as they relate to this position.
- Compliance with all company policies and procedures and job-related state and federal laws and regulations.
Principal Accountabilities
- Reviews non-home equity loan types (auto, boats, RV, vehicles, power sports, signature loans, and deposits secured loans).
- Works with Consumer Loan Processors, Personal Financial Officers (PFO), Consumer Loan Specialists, and/or Consumer Loan Underwriters to make corrections on the application or decisioning.
- Reviews applications for additional action or documentation that may be needed (GAP issued, mechanical breakdown, DMV documents, and powersport registration applications).
- Finalizes sale of GAP and mechanical breakdown protection and attaches documents to the document set in loan application.
- Updates DealerTrack log, if applicable.
- Reviews documents for accuracy.
- Prints any paper documents to branch for closing, if applicable.
- Sends documentation prior to closing, either to branch or member based on member signature election.
- Communicates with Branch PFO, Member Service PFO, and/or Consumer Loan Specialist regarding closing details.
- Reprocesses the documents, if needed.
- Delivers and monitors pending signatures for documents that have been sent for electronic signature.
- Books electronically signed loans once all documentation is properly signed and distributes checks accordingly along with any payoff letters.
