MaineHealth Behavioral Health (MHBH) seeks a Consultation-Liaison Psychiatrist to join their growing behavioral health team in Biddeford. The role involves providing psychiatric consultation to the medical/surgical units.
About the role
This role is part of a large, well-established Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry Service at Maine Medical Center (MMC) Portland, consisting of fellowship-trained C-L psychiatrists and experienced APPs. Integration with the Portland-based team includes access to educational activities such as interdisciplinary teaching, case conferences, quality improvement, and scholarly activities. Collaboration with the MMC Portland Department of Psychiatry residency and Tufts Medical School students is also available, offering opportunities to teach.
Responsibilities
- Provide assessment and management of co-occurring medical, psychiatric, and substance use disorders.
- Work as part of a larger team within the MaineHealth Biddeford campus, which includes a full-service hospital and 24/7 emergency department, surgical services, childbirth services, pharmacy services, laboratory services, and a wide range of primary and specialty care practices.

Requirements
- Graduate of Allopathic or Osteopathic Medical School.
- Completion of internship and psychiatric residency and/or fellowship training.
- Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology or eligible for examination.
- Current or eligible license as a physician by the Maine Board of Licensure in Medicine.
- Current DEA Registration Certificate.
- 3+ years' experience inclusive of residency and/or fellowship training preferred.
