Consultant, Tax Consulting Engineer
Job Summary
The Consultant, Tax Consulting Engineer plays a strategic role in supporting multifamily and commercial development projects through engineering analysis, energy consulting, and tax incentive optimization. This position combines technical expertise with financial strategy to help clients maximize available tax credits, rebates, and sustainability incentives while improving overall project feasibility and long-term building performance.
About the Role
This position is responsible for analyzing building performance during pre-construction and development phases, conducting energy modeling and energy cost analyses, performing commercial building energy audits, and preparing compliance and certification reports. The Consultant works closely with developers, building owners, public entities, architects, contractors, and internal stakeholders to identify opportunities that increase energy efficiency, resiliency, and sustainability while helping projects remain financially viable.
Responsibilities
- Analyzing building performance during pre-construction and development phases
- Conducting energy modeling and energy cost analyses
- Performing commercial building energy audits
- Preparing compliance and certification reports
- Identifying opportunities that increase energy efficiency, resiliency, and sustainability
- Providing data-driven recommendations that reduce operational costs, enhance building performance, and support compliance with energy and sustainability programs
Requirements
- Four-year Engineering college degree (Mechanical or Electrical) from an accredited institution in practice-relevant area with a minimum GPA of 2.8
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Strong communication skills
- Willingness to learn and be a team player
- Beginner’s knowledge of Microsoft® Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet navigation and research
- Valid driver’s license required
- Preference for candidates who have passed the Fundamental of Engineering Exam (FE)

Pay
Compensation is commensurate with experience.
Schedule
