About the role

We currently have a great opportunity available for a Hemostasis Optimization Consultant (HOC). The HOC is responsible for all hemostasis sales activities in their sales territory, coordinating with Health System Account Managers (HSAMs), Corporate Account Executives (CAEs), Technical Service, Marketing, and corporate members to accomplish annual sales goals. The emphasis is on overall hemostasis sales account management, including Reagents, Digital, and Hardware.

Responsibilities

  • Total Solution Selling (Reagents, Digital and Hardware): Formulate and execute a detailed Territory Plan to achieve annual sales objectives in collaboration with Health System Account Managers (HSAMs) and Regional Sales Directors (RSDs). Navigate the full sales lifecycle—from prospecting and qualifying to complex negotiations and closing—positioning Sysmex’s superiority over competitors, including reagent channel filling in existing accounts.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Drive collaboration with HSAMs, Support, Marketing, Corporate Accounts, and Consulting teams. Demonstrate "Lateral Leadership" to align internal stakeholders and win high-value contracts.
  • Strategic Positioning: Present the Sysmex "Lab-of-the-Future" Specialty vision, emphasizing integration of the hemostasis portfolio with specialty testing, automation, and digital solutions.
  • Technical Advocacy: Deliver Clinical, Operational, and Financial (COF) presentations to all levels of hospital management, positioning Sysmex’s technical superiority.
  • Administrative Excellence: Maintain rigorous Customer Relationship Management (CRM) discipline to ensure up-to-date account information and use data-driven tactics to advance opportunities. Utilize independent decision-making and analytical techniques to drive Territory growth while fostering collaboration among diverse groups. Administer company assets responsibly and operate within company guidelines.
  • Stay up-to-date on market trends and competitive intelligence to adapt sales strategies for maximum effectiveness.
  • Maintain a high-impact field presence averaging 4 days per week to advance opportunities and drive client relationships.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • 7 years of proven sales experience is preferable; a Medical Technologist degree is favorable.
  • Proficiency in English, Windows, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Skills

  • Strategic Thinking: Capability to distill a customer’s long-term vision and position Sysmex as a long-term partner rather than just a vendor.
  • Deep Technical Knowledge: Ability to explain the science behind multi-wavelength detection, automated rerun/reflex testing, and how these technologies drive lab efficiency and patient care.
  • Competitive Displacement: Skills to uncover "latent pain" in competitive accounts using investigative sales tactics to challenge the status quo.
  • Executive Presence: Professional gravitas and credibility when engaging high-level buying influencers in high-stakes environments.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; persuasive oral and written communication.
  • Customer-centered with a demonstrated sense of urgency, a "can-do" attitude, and a strong desire to achieve goals.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to work effectively with others.
  • Maturity, professionalism, and tact in interactions with customers and Sysmex associates.
  • Ability to identify, qualify, and close sales opportunities.
