About the role

We are seeking a Consultant with deep expertise in NoSQL database administration and automation development. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with multiple NoSQL databases, Linux VMs, Kubernetes, and automation tools like Ansible and OLAM.

Responsibilities

  • Create and implement fully functional NoSQL database clusters (e.g., Cassandra, Elastic Search, Neo4j, SingleStore, StarDog) on Linux VM and Kubernetes.
  • Maintain multiple production and non-production database environments, including troubleshooting, break-fix issues, upgrades, configuration management, migration, and patching.
  • Develop and maintain Ansible automation and OLAM playbooks for NoSQL platform automation and support.
  • Apply AI Native development skills using Devin for Spec Driven Development (SDD) to enhance NoSQL platform automation.
  • Provide day-to-day database administration, support, and maintenance for existing and new NoSQL databases.
  • Plan and perform database patching, upgrades, and capacity/resource expansion to ensure scalability.
  • Debug, tune, and enhance the performance of NoSQL database platforms.
  • Monitor database health, High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions, and Backup/Recovery operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues and communicate complex concepts effectively.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work experience.
  • 12+ years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree or 8+ years with a master’s degree in NoSQL database design, maintenance, and administration on Linux VM and Kubernetes.
  • Hands-on experience with Ansible automation and OLAM playbook development for NoSQL database provisioning, installation, upgrades, patching, and administration.
  • Strong understanding of database principles, cluster management, replication, and multi-datacenter configuration.
  • Proficiency in database monitoring, capacity planning, and compaction strategies.
  • Knowledge of database backup/recovery, connectivity, security, and role management.
  • Ability to work effectively with teams of varying technical expertise and strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Versatility, flexibility, and proactiveness in resolving technical issues.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certifications in Ansible automation development, DataStax Cassandra, Elastic Search, or Neo4j.
