Consultant, Corporate Governance
About the role
Serve as a trusted partner in supporting company contact administration and maintenance across assigned legal entities. Help strengthen recurring governance processes, document management, and follow-up practices to support the timely completion of annual and periodic requirements. Provide responsive day-to-day governance support and help advance team priorities as needs arise.
Meeting Coordination and Execution
Coordinate and support live subsidiary company meetings, including preparing materials, tracking deliverables, and helping ensure smooth execution. Contribute to process improvement initiatives and project management efforts that enhance corporate governance, legal entity management, and team effectiveness.
Project Management and Process Improvement
Contribute to process improvement initiatives and project management efforts that enhance corporate governance, legal entity management, and team effectiveness. Conduct thoughtful and thorough research in support of department projects, special assignments, and other strategic initiatives. Support and take ownership of certain insurance company licensing matters and related regulatory or corporate maintenance activities, as needed.

Responsibilities
- Collaborates across broad based assignments, to evaluate matters of significance within Corporate Governance.
- Ensures continuous improvement to enterprise Governance processes and policies, and reports on progress. Trusted to make appropriate recommendations for improvement as vital.
- Makes sure issue identification and resolution for board and committees, as an authority in fundamental and sophisticated governance concepts, practices and procedures. Leads the preparation for presentations to management, support team and external partners on Corporate Governance issues and policies.
- Builds effective working relationships across all Nationwide offices and business units, insurance and regulatory agency authorities and consultants.
- Coordinates regular and special report preparation and analysis regarding Corporate Governance.
- May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education: Undergraduate studies in business administration insurance, legal or other relevant academic subject areas.
- Experience: Typically eight years’ minimum experience in corporate governance, legal, financial services, administration, regulatory, project management or consulting.
- Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Expertise related to Corporate Governance needed. Extensive knowledge of the administrative process surrounding Board of Director meetings and projects related to executive leadership partnerships. Organizational skills in planning, coordinating and monitoring. Decision-making and problem-solving skills. Ability to work comfortably and reliably with all levels, including the most senior levels both within the organization and externally. Acute political sensitivity and ability to maintain confidentiality. Shown ability to set work priorities that conform with established standards and be a self-starter. Ability to give presentations in both formal and informal settings. Strong verbal and written skills.

Pay
The national salary range for Consultant, Corporate Governance : $87,000.00-$162,000.00
Schedule
Normal office environment. Occasional travel may be required. Non-standard or extended work hours may be required based on department needs.
