About the role
The Consultant will provide consulting support to the Built Environment Solutions business unit. This support is typically related directly or indirectly to the Department of Defense and may include developing study methodologies, data collection and analyses, planning and programming facility and infrastructure requirements, researching and writing unique reports, and other tasks as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Research areas or issues as assigned and write formal and informal reports of varying lengths focused on summarizing information or persuading readers to support objectives.
- Support continuous process improvement and business process reengineering projects through process mapping; data collection, analysis, and visualization; and development of digital solutions.
- Support project execution, including preparing reports, developing technical documents and presentations, and contributing to other project deliverables.
- Plan, organize, and lead facilitation of virtual and in-person engagements with project stakeholders focused on visioning, brainstorming, and solving various challenges.
- Meet with clients and their representatives as an individual or part of a team to present results, resolve issues, answer questions, and maintain good relations.
- Provide project management or project management assistance, including:
- Budgeting, scheduling, organizing teams, prioritizing multiple projects and deadlines, quality assurance, and invoicing.
- Development of project work plans and scopes of work.
- Project oversight and schedule monitoring.
- Preparation of fee proposals and tracking and managing project budgets and invoicing.
- Production of project deliverables, including technical memoranda, programming documents (e.g., DD1391s), and technical reports such as Planning Charrette Reports (PCRs).
- Administration of QA/QC for project deliverables.
- Maintaining effective communications with clients and project teams.
- Ensuring staff resources are deployed in a productive and profitable manner.
- Conducting regular meetings to balance project needs with staff availability.
- Support proposal development by providing content for the approach, schedule, or other sections as assigned in accordance with the request for proposal or request for qualifications.
Skills
- Gather input from stakeholders to incorporate their perspective and specialized knowledge into recommendations and proposed solutions.
- Use statistical analysis, simulations, predictive modeling, or other methods to analyze information and develop practical solutions to business problems.
- Collect and organize information from a variety of sources, such as computer databases, scanned documents, surveys, and customer feedback.
- Write memos, reports, and develop presentations explaining findings and recommendations for managers, executives, and other project stakeholders.
- Outstanding communication (written and oral) and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of products.
- Working knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, and others).
- Ability and willingness to travel to project sites and other facility offices.
- Self-directed practitioner with project management and project delivery skills.
- Ability to direct staff, bid projects, and develop project execution plans and technical deliverables.
- Technical expertise with outstanding team building, writing, proposal development, cost estimating, and program execution skills.
- Ability to work effectively as a project manager in a group environment and maintain positive relationships with team members and clients.
- Organized and detail-oriented with excellent interpersonal skills.
Requirements
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in engineering, operations research, data science, or a related field of study.
- Minimum of eight (8) years of work-related experience.
- Preferred experience working with or for the Department of Defense.
- Valid driver’s license, in conjunction with successfully passing the Company’s MVR screening.

Pay
Salary Range: $80,000.00 to $90,000.00 annually. Salary will be dependent upon experience.
Location
Colorado Springs, Denver, Phoenix, San Antonio, or remote.

- Occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
