BESS Project Management Consultant

About the role

The Engineering & Construction (E&C) Team at WECTEC Staffing Services is seeking a Senior Project Management Consultant to manage multiple Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects in Juno Beach, FL. The position involves coordinating project development teams, managing project schedules, and ensuring compliance with environmental, regulatory, and land acquisition requirements.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate matrixed project development teams to ensure resources are focused on the right activities at the right time to meet project schedule.
• Coordinate with environmental, regulatory, cultural, land acquisition, interconnection to ensure all project variables are identified and incorporated.
• Improve project variables to enhance both technical and financial feasibility.
• Support origination and development teams with Power Purchase Agreements (PPA) and Grid Interconnection Agreements (GIA) negotiations.
• Support the E&C engineering team with technical attributes to develop designs.
• Support the E&C cost estimating team for the development of financial models.
• Present financial models to respective business units and manage financial models through executive budget approvals.
• Competitively source, negotiate, and implement commercial contracts for critical services such as geotechnical, survey, engineering, and EPC/PC construction services.
• Regularly present progress, issues, and risk mitigation to multiple levels of management.
• Ensure the Construction Project Manager can take over projects moving to the Construction stage with an inclusive and executable construction plan.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction, or equivalent experience. 4+ years of relevant experience in engineering and construction of renewable energy projects. Experience with electricity markets, renewables, and battery projects. PMP Certification and advanced Excel skills are preferred.

Qualifications

Excellent project management skills. Background in management or finance/accounting with experience in related engineering and construction of renewable energy projects. Ability to coordinate and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Pay

Base salary range: $47.00/hr. to $52.00/hr.
