About the role
Investor Group Services (IGS) invites MBAs with an interest in private equity, due diligence, analyzing investment opportunities, and creating value for clients to apply for the Consultant role. Consultant (Full-Time) Start Date: Current or Fall 2026 (flexible) Eligibility: MBA 2nd Years graduating in 2026 or recent graduates.
IGS is a trusted advisor supporting investors and business leaders through transactions, growth and portfolio value creation initiatives. As a boutique advisory firm that works with private equity firms, strategic acquirers, and their portfolio companies, we help our clients assess investment opportunities across most major sectors by providing them with the data-driven insights and analysis they need to make investments in middle market companies and industries.
Responsibilities
As a Consultant, you will be a part of a collegial and entrepreneurial environment. Our work is fast-paced and provides opportunities for rapid skill and knowledge development. Consultants quickly gain in-depth knowledge of diverse markets when evaluating a broad range of industries for private equity firms and corporate clients.
- Assessing investment and growth opportunities for private equity firms and corporate clients
- Gaining an in-depth understanding of a wide variety of industries
- Synthesizing research and analysis to deliver answers to clients' key questions
- Building business development and client management skills
- Assuming a high level of responsibility on client teams as well as within the firm
- Managing projects, supervising teams of associates, designing, conducting, and analyzing research on clients' key questions
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree and MBA degree required. Consultant candidates should have exceptional project management, research, and analytical experience. Candidates should be interested in private equity, due diligence, and analyzing investment opportunities.
- Validate investment theses and assess market risks across a broad range of industries
- Work directly with middle market private equity, M&A and corporate clients
- Lead case teams of 1-4 associates
- Analyze, synthesize, and present complex data, such as market size and share, and competitive landscape dynamics
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize quantitative and qualitative data into actionable insights
- Strong project management skills and experience leading small teams
