About the role
AE2S Nexus is seeking highly-motivated team members to join our utility and municipality financial and policy consulting team. As financial planning consultants to both large and small public and private utilities, the work varies widely and includes:
- Municipal budget planning support
- Assistance with funding development and application
- Rate-design and revenue forecasting
- Capital improvement and renewal/replacement planning
- Analysis of capital funding rate impacts
- Comprehensive reserve planning
- Regional benchmarking studies
- Overall revenue sufficiency and rate projections
Most project assignments include periodic client progress meetings and development of a technical memorandum to relay findings and recommendations. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
Responsibilities
- Communicate and build strong relationships with public clients in support of project development and delivery
- Further company business development and marketing activities in the region
- Oversee local project management and delivery
- Draft and deliver technical reports, proposals, and presentations
- Collect and perform quantitative data analysis of municipal financial information
- Develop and prepare MS Excel-based computer models in support of project analyses
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree (engineering, finance, public affairs, or other related field)
- Proven problem-solving skills based on quantitative data analysis
- Ability to work independently on specific assignments
- 5+ years of experience with data analysis and large data sets
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and manage multiple initiatives
- Willing to travel as required
- Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (e.g., criminal/civil background check, drug screen, motor vehicle records search)
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree (engineering, finance, public affairs, or other related field)
- Experience working in a consulting or public government environment
- History working with team members across broad geographies
