Construction Technician

About the role

Kapur is seeking a Construction Technician who will be responsible for serving as an on-site inspector overseeing various aspects of the construction project.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site inspection for construction projects.
• Perform materials testing, take measurements, and record work quantities.
• Perform engineering calculations and assist with project documentation.
• Perform basic survey duties on construction projects.
• Assist Engineers with day-to-day tasks.
• Work cooperatively with project managers, engineers, technicians, and contractors.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Civil Engineering Technology
• Familiarity with WisDOT and local agency procedures for design and construction.
• WisDOT Highway Technician Certification Program (HTCP) certifications or ability to obtain desirable.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
• Strong work ethic
• Time management skills
• Attention to detail
• Ability to recognize and communicate issues as they arise.
• Works within precise limits or standards of accuracy
• Ability to work in variable weather conditions (rain, heat, snow, etc.) for work outdoors in addition to nights and weekends.
• Ability to lift and/or move objects that can range from 20 to 60 pounds while moving testing equipment or material samples
