Construction Technical Representative

Responsibilities

  • Work with a broad range of construction projects, including road, water main, and sewer construction.
  • Document and inspect infrastructure projects daily.
  • Manage client relationships and contribute to strategic initiatives.
  • Perform various inspection services such as bituminous pavement inspection, density inspection, and construction engineering.
  • Coordinate project administration, including inspection, quality control testing, and reporting.
  • Prepare and finalize project documentation for construction work.
  • Perform technical assistance services for project documentation procedures.
  • Inspect and test traffic control and safety devices.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • An Associate’s degree in Civil Technology, Surveying, Construction Management, or a related technical field.
  • Current KDOT certifications or the ability to obtain them.
  • At least one year of KDOT construction experience.
  • Knowledge of KDOT manuals, procedures, forms, and specifications.
  • A high degree of organizational skills, computer skills, interpersonal skills, and ability to multi-task.
  • A valid U.S. driver’s license.

Qualifications

  • Ability to perform inspections and documentation tasks accurately and efficiently.
  • Experience with KDOT construction projects.
  • Knowledge of relevant KDOT manuals and procedures.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.

Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
