Construction Surveillance Technician (CST) I

About the role

The Construction Surveillance Technician provides day-to-day security in support of Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) and Special Access Program Facility (SAPF) construction efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, identify, and communicate recommendations for improvements of policies, procedures, or systems.
  • Identify threats, vulnerabilities, and potential risks.
  • Draft security incident reports and brief government and civilian agencies, including military senior leaders.
  • Manage uniformed escort personnel and associated logs; assign, train, and brief site security duties.
  • Ensure timely reporting of security incidents to the site lead.
  • Follow and enforce customers’ Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Perform miscellaneous administrative support functions as directed by the contractor site lead and/or the Senior Security Representative.
  • Conduct inspections of materials being delivered for utilization in construction of secure spaces.
  • Photograph and continuously monitor the construction of secure spaces and document all steps to support final accreditation packets.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of related experience (mandatory).
  • Knowledgeable on Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) 705 (on SCIFs and compliance with uniform IC physical and technical security requirements) (desired).
  • Bachelor’s degree is desired and counts towards 4 years of experience; Associate’s degree counts towards 2 years of experience.
  • Must obtain an Interim Secret clearance to start and be willing and able to obtain up to a TS/SCI with Counterintelligence polygraph.
  • Complete additional safety training and/or certification as required by local site (e.g., OSHA 10 Construction Safety, OSHA Fall Protection, and OSHA Confined Space) within the first 30 days of hire.
