About the role
The Construction Surveillance Technician’s primary function is to provide day-to-day security in support of Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) and Special Access Program (SAP) construction efforts.
Responsibilities
- Assesses, identifies, and communicates recommendations for improvements of policies, procedures, or systems.
- Identifies threats, vulnerabilities, and potential risks.
- Drafts security incident reports and briefs government and civilian agencies, including military senior leaders.
- Manages uniformed escort personnel and associated logs; assigns, trains, briefs site security duties, and ensures timely reporting of security incidents to site lead.
- Follows and enforces customers’ Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Performs miscellaneous administrative support functions as directed by the contractor site lead and/or the Senior Security Representative.
- Conducts inspections of materials being delivered for utilization in construction of secure spaces.
- Photographs and continuously monitors the construction of secure spaces and documents all steps to support final accreditation packets.
Requirements
- 1–2 years of related experience.
- Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) counts toward 3 years of experience.
- Special Program Security Certification (SPSC) counts toward 5 years of experience (maximum equivalent experience for SPED Certifications is no more than 5 years).
- Bachelor’s Degree. In lieu of a degree, must have 4 additional years of experience in addition to the 1–2 years of experience listed.
- Must have a Top Secret/SCI Clearance at the time of application.
- Must be willing to obtain a CI Polygraph.
- Complete additional safety training and/or certification as required by local site (e.g., OSHA 10 Construction Safety, OSHA Fall Protection, and OSHA Confined Space) within the first 30 days of hire.
- Must obtain CDSE STEPP ICD 705 Physical Security Construction Requirements for SAP course completion within the first 30 days of hire.
Desired Experience
- Knowledgeable on Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) 705 (on SCIFs and compliance with uniform IC physical and technical security requirements).
Pay
The likely salary range for this position is $91,375 - $123,625. Salary will be set based on experience, geographic location, and possibly contractual requirements.
