About the role

This full-time, non-exempt position provides construction surveillance services at selected Government facilities being constructed within the United States.

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 1:00 PM–9:00 PM

Responsibilities

  • Provide basic physical security in accordance with Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIF) policies and Intelligence Community Standard (ICS) 705-1 (Physical and Technical Standards for Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities).
  • Conduct surveillance and monitor construction trades to closely observe all activities and materials, ensuring the security integrity of the building.
  • Inspect, detect, and report any unauthorized technical penetrations and thwart implanted clandestine technical collection devices.
  • Work closely with the assigned Government Site Security Manager (SSM) to ensure all established security policies and procedures are followed.
  • Supplement site security access controls by implementing screening and inspection procedures and monitoring uncleared construction personnel in accordance with the Construction Security Plan (CSP).
  • Conduct inspections of Protected Distribution Systems (PDS) and report any anomalies to the SSM.

The Construction Surveillance Technician must be able to:

  • Stand for 4 hours or longer per day.
  • Work in inclement weather conditions, including extreme heat, extreme cold, humidity, and other adverse conditions for extended periods.
  • Perform physical tasks such as lifting (up to 20 lbs.), standing, walking, sitting, and bending throughout the workday.
  • Navigate uneven surfaces, climb ladders, and frequently go up and down stairs.
  • Work flexible shifts and weekends to meet customer requirements.
  • Make logical, mentally competent, and safe decisions on a construction site.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • U.S. citizenship.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in the construction industry with knowledge of two or more of the following disciplines:
    • Carpentry (rough-in, finish)
    • Electricity
    • Plumbing
    • HVAC
    • Sheet Metal
    • Welding
    • Dry Wall
    • Masonry
  • Knowledge of construction safety, project cycles, and common nomenclature of materials/equipment.
  • Fluency in reading, speaking, and understanding the English language.
  • Ability to complete written reports and forms.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.

Pay

Hourly rate: $23.26–$39.57. This position is overtime-eligible and falls under the Service Contract Act (SCA). In addition to the base hourly rate, you may be eligible for an additional health and welfare payment per hour worked to comply with SCA minimums. The amount varies based on fringe benefits selected.
